Hong Kong hosted its third annual Hong Kong Fintech Week from October 29 to November 02, 2018, marking the world’s inaugural cross-border fintech event spotlighting the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. The event drew over 8,000 attendees, including regulators, investors, academics, and over 200 fintech founders.

Organized by Finnovasia and Finovate and presented by InvestHK, the event featured key themes such as artificial intelligence, blockchain, fintech in China, Greater Bay Area collaboration, virtual banks, as well as discussions on regtech, insurtech, Open APIs, payments, wealth, financial inclusion, funding, and more, with support from partners like the Hong Kong Monetary Authority, the Securities and Futures Commission, the Hong Kong Insurance Authority, and Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited.
